I'd love to see the message board without it since its not efficient to have it around...

I think FritzND has a point... if the biggest group is what most people's viewpoint and experience of Prosper.com will be like, then we all have a stake in the biggest group's situation and adventures.

I heartily applaud all whistleblowers, sleuths, rabblerousers, and little gangs who inform the marketplace.

But 90% of the talk here seems to always wind up back there, when there's so much else to think about these days.

Updates are fine, if something egregious happens or is discovered, shout it from the rooftops.

Has Prosper changed anything yet?

As much as I hate it by now, I feel it should stay all over the forums for anyone new, until such time as Prosper fixes the problem.

The fact that not much if anything has been done, or hardly even addressed, is simply compounding the problem.

The fact that there is two groups in and of itself is fraudulent. The only possible purpose is to hide the rotten loans (and star status) of the first group.

There's two dead horse ones. I chose the second option.

The discussion is still a good and necessary one to have, even though many of us are sick of it by now. It's about the future or Prosper, or indeed any community lending site. There will those who try and take advantage of the rules and I, for one, am grateful that somebody out there is also willing to stand up for the little guy who is getting screwed.

11% of all Prosper borrowers get funneled through 2Mils, and are exposed to their scammy, spammy interpretation of Prosper.

Yes I'm very sick and tired of it.

We know there is a problem and that prosper is 'working' on it so rather than seeing these threads specifically about 2mil i'd rather see threads about updates to the 'fix'. After all improvement is our main concern, no? And the need for improvement is in part what caused Black Friday.

It almost seems like the vocal ones are loosing some of the focus.

They've been forced (I assume) to take down their logo.

They've been forced (I assume) to change their banner that lied about the number of members.

Now they're saying on their group page

but that combines the statistics of both their groups, and I've reported them several times for that.

They're also changed their screen names to BeverlyD (Group 1) and MarcelD (Group 2). Maybe that's their attempt at increasing transparency.

I'm not tired of it because I know that after the recent conference call, Prosper seems to finally realize the severity of 2M's horrid actions.

I'll admit that I'm tired of it. But I think it needs to continue until Prosper fixes it, and I've heard they are working on it.

Earlier today, I alternately became TwoMillionaires1 and TwoMillionaires2 for a few minutes -- enough time for a few people to see my endorsement of StaciM's listing under the 2M1 name before I morphed back to myself...what a relief!

There are some savvy people here who do not give up easily. They didn't make their money by being pushovers or dunces. Some of them have a strong sense of ethics, too.

I don't think this will go away on its own. Prosper may wish it would go away; but wishing it won't make it so.

It's not TwoMill that really concerns me. He's just the GL du jour. It's the need for improved guidelines for groups. If this is not addressed, his groups could both go down in flames but there would still be others like him, arriving to repeat his techniques. TwoMill may go away, but this problem won't unless it's addressed.

I agree completely. If 2mil shut down their groups tomorrow, one or two of the other mega group leaders would be very happy, but nothing much would change.

What I would like to see is a board or page where prospective borrowers could go and see the number or even names of lenders blocking a group by group. This would help borrowers get a better picture of any group they might join.

Can't we just get off this and back to bashing the Billionaire group? I'm mean really, 2 million ain't really that much dough compared to a billion.

Not sure if this posting was directed at me :huh: but I will endeavor to answer it all the same. I am no sock puppet for anyone. I don't care which side of the issue you fall down on and really could care less whether 2mil fails or succeeds as a group. This thread is designed bring a numerical count to the recent 2mil debate, so all forumers can see where their fellow Prosperers stand. Numbers speak volumes. If the polls say keep teh debate going, then let's roll. If they say the forumers are tired of it, take it as a hint to lay low. As anyone who loks at the poll can see, I gave plenty of options for both sides. In no way are the choices slanted toward one side or the other. Anyone who wants to call me a sock puppet is dead wrong and extremely misguided - that is, IF you were talking about me. If not, then disregard and carry on with the polling. :D

Nah, I'm thinking it's more you than I. For one, I don't go with the status quo. I make my own determinations about who I want to support and how. You, on teh other hand, are simply a joke. You follow others like a lemming, rehashing other's ideas and retyping their thoughts, passing them off as if their your own. Think for yourself for once and voice something that's original. How many times has the "sock puppet" analogy been used before. At least you could come up with a more original insult. I disagree . . . . and I have no beef with you. I don't think I've run into you before so I will not harbor anything against you for your honest assessment. However, HurricanesFan27 was previously warned by Prosper Brian to not engage me due to his rudeness and the fact he was literally following me around the boards and posting a comment after every one of my posts. Prosper also took other action against him for other infractions that I was asked not to discuss. I just think it's really sad that some forumers here would rather attack a person's credibility for haveing a different opinion rather than engage them intellectually and discuss the issue.
